Bartonville Water Supply Corporation now has the following job openings:
JOB TITLE: WATER WORKS/FIELD OPERATOR
JOB DESCRIPTION/JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be in excellent physical condition.

Must have a current Water Works Certificate of Competency issued by the TCEQ. Must be able to upgrade this certificate as necessitated by regulatory change, etc.

Must be familiar with operating principles of Water Works Distribution Systems and able to gain a thorough knowledge of the Bartonville Water Supply Corporation System.

Must be insurable under Bartonville Water Supply Corporation’s present insurance (motor vehicle) carrier to operate Bartonville Water Supply Corporation vehicles.

Must be able to obtain Hazardous Material Endorsement on his/her current Texas Department of Public Safety Drivers License.

Must be able to obtain other necessary licenses, certifications, as required by Texas State, federal regulations, e.g. Trench Safety Certification.

Must be willing to stay abreast of new industry standards and attend schools, seminars, etc. as necessary.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Perform necessary/various repairs to the Bartonville Water Supply Corporation Pump Stations/Distribution System.
-
Learn all Bartonville Water Supply Corporation meter routes and accurately read all meters in the Bartonville Water Supply Corporation service area on a scheduled monthly/as needed basis.

Learn and become familiar with TCEQ regulations regarding public drinking water systems and principles of disinfection.

Perform other general maintenance work throughout the Bartonville Water Supply Corporation service area.

Available for “on call” (24 hour) duty as scheduled. “On call” duty will involve at least one (1), if not more than one (1), weekend per month.

Assist the General Manager or other Bartonville Water Supply Corporation personnel as needed in the day-to-day operation of corporation business.

Learn operation of backhoe and other equipment, if not currently trained, necessary to the operation and maintenance of the water system.

Work with granular chlorine and chlorine gas as used in potable water disinfection, etc.
-
Work out of doors most of the time and under all types of environmental conditions.
